I’m a freelance journalist whose work has appeared in the  New York Times,  Vogue,  Marie Claire,  Elle, DETAILS, and  Outside Magazine,  among other publications. I’ve held editing positions at  Skiing and SKI. I’m also a filmmaker and in May 2020, my documentary Journey for Justice debuted on Al Jazeera. The film has screened at several festivals and was nominated in 2022 for best short documentary at New Filmmakers LA Film Festival. I’ve also appeared on national and local television and radio.

My story  “Bill Koch’s Wild West Adventure”  won first place in the news/reporting category from the Society of Professional Journalists’ Colorado chapter and was later included in Mile High Stories, an anthology of 5280 magazine's best writing of the last 25 years. I’ve written stories about everything from controversial billionaires and American mercenaries fighting in Syria to a secret society living off the grid in Kauai.

*I used to write under Kelley McMillan, but I am now writing under my married name, Kelley Manley.
